After they have taken off their combat boots for the last time, veterans may still face a battle, and a Flemington event will show them their community cures.
The Manville-Hillsborough ELKS Charity Riders support a wide variety of local projects, and has announced the return of its New Year’s Day “Hangover Ride.” The outing will depart from the chapter’s lodge for an escorted run, and even those who do not own a motorcycle are welcome to enjoy the fun.
After the kickstands go up and the riders depart, they will drive the route. Upon their return, they will be welcome to linger and enjoy mingling with friends while they visit vendor tables, have some refreshments, and purchase tickets for an even split draw. The general public is encouraged to sign up for the run or attend the post-ride festivities.
The monies raised through this activity will be donated to Community Hope of New Jersey Hope for Veterans program. To help maximize the impact of the day, T-Shirts will be on offer that feature a graphic design prepared for the occasion. These will be available for as long as supplies last.
The 2022 New Year’s Day Hangover Ride will depart from the Lodge at 12:15 pm on New Year’s Day itself. Registration will open at 10:00 am, and the fee is $15.
