The arrival of fall will bring a special fundraiser to Flemington, and those who participate will help to ensure their neighbors in need have food on their tables.
The organizers of the ShopRite of Hunterdon County Race For Hunger are hoping for a great turnout, and everyone has been asked to get involved in any way they can. They can choose from a walk or run, and volunteers and corporate sponsors are also needed.
The runners will be taking on a five-kilometer course, while the walkers will go along at a slower pace on a three-kilometer route. The staging area for both will be in Deer Path Park, and the proceeds will be passed along to Norwescap Food Bank, which will use the funds to keep its shelves stocked. Awards will be presented to the top finishers, and professional timing services will be available.
To thank the public for its support, an assortment of perks will be presented. These include T-Shirts with fun graphic design, as well as refreshments and prizes. The organizers have explained that it would not be possible to host the fundraiser without the support of the area's corporate community.
