Flemington asked to take steps in support of first responders

This fall, 343 climbers from Flemington and the surrounding communities will be paying homage to the firefighters who showed their heroism on 9/11.

The Hunterdon Medical Center and the Raritan Township Fire Company will be hosting a 9/11 Stair climb, and the funds raised will be donated to the FEALGood Foundation. This group helps firefighters and other first responders who were directly affected by the events of 9/11.

The nearly 350 participants in this event will be challenged to climb the same number of stairs that the firefighters did on September 11, 2001 when they made their rescue efforts at the World Trade Center. The organizers noted that the entire climb will likely take around one and a half hours, and both snacks and drinks will be provided.

Many of the firefighting personnel who participate will be wearing their full turnout gear for the occasion, and members of the public are welcome to join them in the climb. Specially designed T-Shirts will be given to those who register by August 20. A printer can use graphic design techniques to craft items like these.

Hunterdon Medical Center will be the location for this fundraiser, and it has been planned for September 9. Those who are interested can choose to register as part of a five-person crew or on their own, and donations will also be gratefully accepted.
