Egg dyeing is an old art form, and a Flemington workshop will demonstrate how a variety of naturally sourced materials can be used for this in an activity the whole family can enjoy.
The families who gather at Echo Hill Lodge for the Natural Egg Dyeing workshop will find out how they can use an assortment of plants that can be found in the local area to create naturally sourced dyes. The group will also explore the colors they can create using veggies and fruits from the supermarket, and they will be able to take their creations home with them.
Before the attendees begin dyeing their eggs, they will go outdoors to look for plants with which to create the dyes they will use. Each registrant is asked to bring at least a dozen hard-boiled eggs, and to wear clothing that is suitable for the brief walk outdoors.
Offering a class like this can be a fun way to show families the wonders of the natural world. Instruction sheets and other dyeing tips can be provided to each learners, and Stationery printers will be able to provide them.
Echo Hill Park, which can be found at 42 Lilac Drive, will be welcoming the public for this hands on workshop on April 8. The fee to register is $5.
