What's Happening in Edison, NJ…

There are several summer camps now on the schedule in and around Edison.

The YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge, and South Amboy has listed eight summer camps around the area including two in Edison proper: Camp Oakcrest in Edison and Camp Oak Tree at the Edison YMCA.

Camp Oakcrest attendees will have a chance to work on arts and crafts, play inclusive games, and take swimming lessons. Each week has a separate theme; these include Shark Week, Shoot for the Stars, Hawaiian Hullabaloo. In addition, a traditional STEAM camp is planned. The venue is the Oakcrest Community Pool, a 14-acre site in Edison. Children ages Kindergarten-Grade 9 are eligible.

The Camp Oak Tree activities are for slightly younger students and are referred to as enrichment camps. Among the subjects here are NASA: Journey to Outer Space, and Radical Reactions & Detective Science. The ages accepted are children Kindergarten-Grade 8. Brochure printing can be used to provide descriptive pamphlets about events like this.

Since these camps are being held in person, organizers are reassuring the community they will comply completely with all health regulations, which include social distancing. In addition, procedures for drop off and pick up will be modified, and health screenings will be done regularly. The camps will be limited in size, and the YMCA is increasing its attention to sanitation and hygiene.
