Special event sails into Edison

People who enjoy boating should plan to come to Edison soon for one of the biggest events for sailing enthusiasts.

The Marine Trades Association of New Jersey (MTA/NJ) is the producer of the upcoming New Jersey Boat Sale & Expo. MTA/NJ is a trade organization comprising more than 300 businesses related to protecting, promoting, and advancing New Jersey’s waterways as well as the state’s recreational marine sector. The event will have vendors at the expo center, and boat exhibitors at their own facilities.

Among the boat exhibitors are All Points Marine Services in Pleasant Beach, who sell Honda marine engines; Clarks Landing Yacht Sales in Point Pleasant; and MarineMax in Brick Township, who sell boats such as the Scout, Sailfish, and Sea Ray.

Vendors who will have booths at the expo center include Browns Point Marine Service, Captain Jack’s Boating School, and Gloria Sales, who sell canvas and upholstery. Additional exhibitors and vendors are still being added.

The expo also includes seminars about fishing. These lectures are still being planned, but a look at the 2024 event shows what visitors can expect. Last year, talks included “Fishing for Doormat Fluke,” and “Bluefin Tuna.”

There is also a Kids’ Cove with activities for children, and a Marine Safety Cove, which will be manned by the New Jersey State Police, who can explain boating laws and safety. For massive events like this, organizers will often use flyer printing to create a schedule of events and map with vendors’ locations.
