Popular show returns to Edison

A popular event that showcases minerals and gems and provides fun for children is returning to Edison.

The New Jersey Mineral, Fossil, Gem & Jewelry Show is returning to the New Jersey Expo Center in Edison, where it customarily takes place. The show provides opportunities for attendees to see and purchase minerals in beginner, intermediate, and investments grades.

In addition, supplies, tools, petrified wood, interior décor, metaphysical objects, cabochons, crystals, silver, gold, findings, beads, amber, artisan-crafted jewelry, gemstones, meteorites, fossils and more will also be available. Vendors from across the world will be on hand to offer unusual items. When they plan huge shows like this, organizers will often use flyer printing to create handouts for attendees, including a list of vendors and a map of the venue.

Special activities for children are planned. They will be able to touch the bones of real dinosaurs, sluice for gems, crack geodes, and try metal detecting. They will also be able to see the glowing minerals under UV light in a special mineral room, thanks to the Franklin Mineral Museum, which is responsible for the exhibit.

The gem show is scheduled to run May 14 through 18. The hours are 12.00 pm until 8.00 pm on the 14th; 12.00 pm until 8.00 pm on the 15th and 16th, 10.00 am until 7.00 pm on the 17th, and 10.00 pm until 6.00 pm on the 18th. Parking for the event is free.
