Park Festival coming soon

The Borough of Highland Park and the neighboring City of New Brunswick will host a not-on-the-fourth celebration

In tandem with the City of New Brunswick, Middle Sex County Parks Department, and Highland Park Community Services, Middlesex County Improvement Authority is inviting all Highland Park families to attend the upcoming Fireworks in the Park.

Continuing with tradition, there will be two fireworks displays over the Delaware Raritan Canal. The first one will be presented by the City of New Brunswick on its side of the canal. After that grand finale, Highland Park will begin its fireworks display on its own side of the water.

The event will again be free.

Many will want to bring their appetites in order to enjoy all the summer food, desserts, and beverages that will be offered by local venders’ food trucks. Others may want to bring their own picnics. Like every year, there will be live music, activities for the children, demonstrations, and a Youth Theater Musical Review.

Photographers can once again get those great fireworks shots that have the fireworks reflected in the water. These will make subjects for later poster printing.

The festivities are set to kick off at 5pm and the Highland Park’s fireworks will get underway at approximately 9:20pm at Donaldson Park, on July 2rd. The rain date will be July 5th.
