What's Happening in Edison, NJ…

Oh the horror! Edison con brings the scares

Horror fans will want to be in Edison soon, when zombies and vampires and all kinds of bad guys come to town.

The New Jersey Horror Con and Film Festival invites people to turn to the dark side, with screenings, a cosplay contest, vendors, and appearances by celebrities from a range of films and television productions. Discussion panels are also planned.

Some of the details are still being worked out, and a list of vendors has not been published. However, a convention like this is sure to bring opportunities for attendees to purchase photos, posters, and memorabilia from their favorite productions.

There is an impressive number of celebrities scheduled to appear. They include Costas Mandylor, who played the role of Mark Hoffman in the “Saw” films and was a regular on “Picket Fences,” where he played Kenny Lacos. Also on the guest list is Michael Bailey Smith, whose credits include “The Hills Have Eyes,” and many others.

The casts of two films are reuniting as well. “Revenge of the Nerds” will reunite Robert Carradine, Curtis Armstrong, Brian Tochi, Andrew Cassese, Julia Montgomery, Larry B. Scott, and Donald Gibb. The cast of “The Monster Squad,” which includes Duncan Regehr, Ryan Lambert, Andre Gower, Ashley Bank, Michael Reid MacKay, and Stephen Macht, will also be on hand.

The convention dates are August 9, 10, and 11, at the New Jersey Expo Center in Edison. Organizers of conventions like this often use poster printing to create publicity for them.
