The Summer Session of the Community Orchestra offered by the Royal Stage School of Music, which is located in Fanwood just a short distance from Highland Park, will be starting later this month.
Students who range from novices to advanced will be able to take classes in playing the violin, viola, cello, or bass. Advanced students can participate in ensembles by invitation or audition only, and Mommy and Me keyboard classes for children between the ages of four and five will also be available.
There are four levels of courses: ones for novices, concert orchestra, sinfonia, and philharmonic, the last of which are more intermediate classes. New students interested in the sinfonia class need to sign up for the concert orchestra class and attend the first rehearsal as an audition. The philharmonic level is by invitation only.

According to the director of the Royal Stage of Music, Hsin-Ting Feng, the love of music is used to inspire children and adults, and students are encouraged to play good works of music in order to give back to the community. At every performance of the Royal Stage of Music, money is raised and contributed to an organization.
Feng is director of the Highland Park High School Orchestra and has taught elementary and high school students, as well as adults.
