Edison show explores worlds past and present

A huge show is on the way to Edison, bringing many different products and activities with it.

The NJ Mineral, Fossil, Gem & Jewelry Show, which will take place in the NJ Expo Center over a period of five days, is expected to draw between 17,000 and 20,000 visitors. They will have a chance to visit 450 booths of vendors displaying jewelry, gemstones, fine minerals, amber, meteorites and more. There are also displays planned featuring home décor, dinosaurs, science, history, and nature.

Visitors will be able to purchase items directly from the vendors. In addition, patrons who are in business and have a sales tax or business license will be able to investigate the booths in a special “Wholesale Only” section.

Dinosaurs Rock Kids Corner, a presentation by Dinosaurs Rock, brings museum-quality presentations to the community. At this part of the show, youngsters will be able to mine for gems, crack open geodes, search for fossils, and try sluicing for minerals, as well as metal detecting. A free fossil will be given to every child who visits the Corner.

Days and hours of the show are April 15, 16, and 17 from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm; April 18, from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm; and April 19, from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. Flyer printing is often used at events like this to get people supplied with handouts.
