New Jersey is usually not thought of in connection with dinosaurs, but that could change soon, as the prehistoric lizards are on their way to Edison, courtesy of Jurassic Quest.
Jurassic Quest has built more than 80 dinosaurs that are life size, working with paleontologists to make sure they have recreated the animals exactly, ranging from tiny babies to a 24-foot-tall Tyrannosaurus Rex. The company has worked hard to make sure their robotic creations are as true to life as possible. The creatures move and roar, and some are fully animated and are able to walk. Visitors to Jurassic Quest can play with Baby Dinosaurs and the Walking Dinosaurs. The babies interact with visitors, and have grabbed hats off children’s heads, and nibbled on their shirts. Some brave souls have ridden on the back of the T-Rex.
In addition to interactions with the animals, visitors to Jurassic Quest have many other activities available. They can dig for fossils, or find their way through an inflatable maze. A Dinosaur Petting Zoo full of babies will delight children, and they can take part in craft projects. The quest also has real dinosaur fossils on exhibit.
Jurassic Quest will take over the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison from December 28 through December 30. On Saturday and Sunday, the hours are 9:00 am until 8:00 pm, and on Monday, from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm.
