Colorful event comes up in Edison

An event that promises to be as much fun as it is colorful is coming to Edison.

Desiknot is the host of the upcoming Rang Barse - Holi in the Park celebration. The traditional Indian festival of Holi celebrates new life, spring, the triumph of good over evil, and in particular, love in every form. There are various interpretations of it and it can be celebrated in different ways, but whatever its form, Holi now spreads joy throughout the world.

The colors are the most recognizable part of Holi. The powdered dyes are thrown on the participants (with their permission, of course), and sometimes people rub the colors on one another’s faces while they exchange the “Holi Hai” greeting. Most participants wear white clothing so that the colors stand out.

Organizers of the event will provide the dry, organic colors as well as white T-Shirts. Top Indian Restaurant will cater the buffet of Indian foods, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available. Participants are not allowed to bring colors of their own.

The Holi Re celebration is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, from 1.00 pm until 4.00 pm, at Roosevelt Park Grove 2B in Edison. Organizers of events like this can use poster printing to create advertisements to post throughout the community and spread the word on what they are about.
