Christmas convention in Edison

A convention is coming to Edison just in time for the holidays, bringing the stars of holiday films and television programs.

Christmas Con will be held in the New Jersey Expo Center in Edison to make room for everyone to attend. There are 34 celebrities scheduled to appear, most veterans of soap operas and Christmas movies. Jonathan Bennett is hosting the event, with Lacey Chabert as the special guest.

Bennett is familiar with hosting duties, as he has handled them on both “Halloween Wars” and “Cake Wars” for the Food Network. He has worked in films and on television, where he has appeared in “All My Children,” “Veronica Mars,” “Smallville,” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”

Lacey Chabert is a veteran of television, film, and Broadway, where she appeared in “Les Misérables” in the role of Cosette. Her television credits include the TV Christmas movie “A Christmas Melody,” which made its debut on the Hallmark Channel in 2015 and drew nearly four million viewers.

There will be chances for fans to take photos with the celebrities, who will also participate in panel discussions. Organizers of events like these can work with brochure printers to create programs, which fans often keep as souvenirs.

The three-day event runs December 9, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm; December 10, from 10:00 pm until 6:00 pm; and December 11, from 10:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
