Cat show to be held in Edison
A fun celebration of fluffy felines is coming to Edison.
The Cat Fanciers’ Association recently announced the upcoming Annual Show of the Garden State Cat Club of New Jersey, which will be held at the New Jersey Convention & Expo Center in Edison.
The show features competitions among cats of the same breed; that is, Persians compete against Persians, Maine Coons against Maine Coons, and so on. They are judged on how well they conform to the breed standards, including such traits as size, color, eyes, ears, and muzzle.
However, not all cats judged are purebred, and the most popular category of all is probably Household Pets. Anyone may enter their pet, but unlike purebreds, these family members will be judged on charm, playfulness, personality, and beauty.
A Presentation Ring will house special events including stories from cat rescue groups, a cat costume contest, and more.
A Feline Agility Ring will be available to all cats. Contestants will follow a toy up a set of stairs, through a tunnel, and over jumps to demonstrate their ability. The winner will be the cat who completes the course most quickly.
In addition, vendors will be on hand with all kinds of cat-related products such as clothing cat toys, and carriers.
The show is July 19 and 20, at the convention center, 97 Sunfield Avenue. Events like this can be enhanced when organizers use flyer printing to create handouts for visitors, listing show times, vendors, and similar information.
