What's Happening in Edison, NJ…

BrickFest coming to Edison

An enormously popular toy that has become a cultural phenomenon is now the focus of an in-person event in Edison.

BrickFest was the first convention planned for adult LEGO fans in the United States. The idea was to have LEGO fans bring their builds and display them to other enthusiasts. The convention also featured presentations, workshops, challenges, and special events. It was held in Arlington, Virginia, in 2000.

BrickFest has now become an event for whole families, with special attention for children ages 6 through 12 and their guardians, families, and friends. Even though the main participants are children, anyone who loves the BRICK universe is welcome. Attendees can expect to see models made life-size of everything from the Incredible Hulk to Captain America’s Shield, and they will be able to participate in building a mosaic that will break the Guiness World Record.

Build zones will allow people a chance to express themselves with their own creations, and building competitions will allow BRICK fans to go head-to-head. A special Glow Zone will be available, where builders will find BRICKS that glow when hit with a UV light, making the build a special experience. Exclusive, hard-to-find merchandise will be available.

BrickFest is scheduled for April 26 and 27 at the New Jersey Convention & Expo Center. The hours are 9.00 am until 5.00 pm on Saturday, and 10.00 am until 4.00 pm on Sunday. Events like this are traditionally promoted with posters, which organizers can find at print shops.
