Birdwatching event available for Edison residents

The Warren Park/Oros Preserve outing is scheduled to take place this Spring near Edison.

New Jersey Audubon is the host of this outdoor event. Originally established in 1897, the organization has since grown to include professional staff members, a board of directors, volunteers, and members who all help to raise awareness and educate themselves and others on nature conservation, management, and an increase on the development of animal sanctuaries. NJ Audubon hosts a diverse variety of informative programs and events that allow participants to learn more about local wildlife.

Tickets to the Warren Park/Oros Preserve are priced at $20 for members of the New Jersey Audubon and at $25 for nonmembers.

Patrick Belardo and Scott Barnes will lead participants from Edison and other nearby communities to natural areas where migratory birds are frequently sighted, such as at wetlands, ponds, fields, and around pin oaks. Locations will include William Warren Park and the Oros Wildlife Preserve. Birds that may be present will include over a dozen subspecies of vireos, warblers, and thrushes. Brochure printing is favored by the hosts of similar events as a way to provide interested individuals, as well as registered participants with printouts that provide a thorough explanation of event details and rules.

This four-hour birdwatching adventure is set to be hosted in Woodbridge Township on Thursday, May 13 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
