Art in the Park on its way

Highland Park locals and others from around the area will not have to wait much longer for this year’s Arts in the Park.

The event is coming in just a few weeks, and it promises to be a family fun event just in time to greet the fresh autumn weather.

Arts in the Park is, as its name implies, a celebration of the arts in which exhibitors from around the region showcase their talents, from photography, to sculpture, graphics, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, painting, fine crafts, and unique “green” pieces designed to highlight the importance of living in one with our planet.

Thousands of people attend the event each year, coming for the art, music, food and other entertainment, and as a way to get out and enjoy the park with fellow art lovers before the cold weather sets in. There will also be a kids’ zone and separate kids’ show. Those planning to attend may want to have flyer printing done to help advertise the event. Cash awards will be given for each of seven categories, and most of the art on view will also be for sale.

The festival will be held Sunday, September 20, from 11:30 am until 4:30 pm at Main Street Highland Park, 212 Raritan Avenue, Highland Park. Vendors can register online at the event website.
