Westfield’s budding fashionistas who are looking for a way to make their winter break more fun will be able to flex their creative muscles during a workshop series organized by Westfield Recreation.
The Winter Break Fashion Workshops will give young people from the area a chance to hone their design skills, and there will be three sessions to choose from. The participants can opt to attend as many of the sessions as they wish, and the registration fee for each is $75.
Each class will be focused on making a different item from scratch, and the junior designers will have an opportunity to make a crop top, drawstring skirt, or pair of sweatpants. The cost for the workshop includes all the trims, fabrics and other supplies needed to complete the project, and sewing machines will be available for anyone who needs one.
Each of these hands-on learning activities will begin at 10:30 am on their scheduled day, and they will wrap up at 12:30 pm. They are intended for kids between the ages of 7 and 17, and the projects have been designed so that they can be completed in just one day. Printed Copies of sewing patterns and other materials for this sort of function can be prepared by area Print shops.
Registration for these three sewing and design sessions is now on offer, and they have been scheduled for December 28, 29, and 30. The activities will be held at 425 East Broad Street.
