Westfield workshop to welcome newbie needlecrafters

For those new to the enjoyable and practical craft of sewing, an upcoming workshop will help them get started.

Westfield Recreation will be holding a morning session that will introduce a variety of basic machine sewing techniques. No experience is needed, and the registration fee includes all of the materials, as well as the use of a machine.

The participants will be transforming a pair of simple bandana into a spring and summer top, and the method taught can also be used to upcycle other items. The project will be completed in one day, and the learners will discover the basics of fashion design. There is enough room for up to eight students, and registrations are now being accepted.

Tickets for this introduction to upcycling are now on offer, priced at $75 each. While the use of a sewing machine is included in the fee, those who have their own are welcomed to bring them along if they prefer. Supplying the registrants with printed instructions during this type of function will make it easier for them to keep on sewing, and these can be prepared by an area printing services company.

The “Learn to Upcycle a Bandana into a Top” workshop will welcome future needlecrafters on March 29. It will be held at 425 East Broad Street in Westfield.
