Westfield residents invited to get shredding

Shredding documents is one way for members of the public to take charge of their personal security, and Westfield residents are welcomed to take advantage of a community shred on the agenda for the area.

Those who would like to access this service will be able to bring up to four Boxes or Bags of paperwork to be disposed of, and they are reminded that items that are wet or that have been previously shredded will not be accepted. It's intended for private households, and each box or bag can be no more than 10lb.

When the members of the public arrive for the shred day, they will be asked to follow the posted directions. They are requested to limit the materials they bring to ones that are sensitive or confidential, as this will help to ensure that there will be enough space for everyone.

Offering a service like this is one way for a community to help ensure the safety of its citizens. Sending out announcements to local households that let them know when and where the function will be held will help to spread the word, and a flyer printing company will have lots of ideas for this.

The mobile shred day will be held in Westfield on September 25 at the Westfield Memorial Pool. The shredding will take place until 1:00 pm, but the day will wrap up earlier if the truck gets too full.
