Westfield outing to welcome returning birds

Spring migration has arrived, and Westfield birders will be able to enjoy the spectacle when they take part in an upcoming organized outing.

The grounds at Kip’s Castle will provide a backdrop for a birding excursion planned for May, and its listing explained that the venue should offer some great views. The trail is mostly paved and level, and at the end of the walk, the participants can continue to explore the venue.

As many birds will be moving through the location on their way north, the registrants can expect to see a wide variety of songbirds and raptors, and many woodland species may be viewed. With some luck, they may even be able to spot a new lifer to add to their list, and it will give newbie and experienced birders alike an opportunity to hone their spotting and identification skills.

Birding is a popular hobby that encouraged both environmental stewardship and being outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine. Basic field guides can be prepared by local Print shops, which will also be able to supply poster printing and other marketing options.

This visit to Kip’s Castle Park will be on offer on May 21, and those who sign up are asked to arrive at the meet-up point by no later than 8:30 am. The venue is located at 22 Crestmont Road in Montclair.
