As spring kicks into high gear, Westfield gardeners will be scoring some new additions to their plantings when they shop at a local pop-up plant market.
Maplewood Garden Club recently announced that its annual Plant Sale will be making its return. This well-loved activity has become a local tradition, and it has taken place for the past 86 years.
The activity, which has earned a reputation for being one of the state’s top plant sales, will raise money for the Club. Some of the choices will be species and cultivars that can be difficult to find in the usual commercial trade, and vegetables, perennials, specialty annuals, and other options will be available as well. Hanging baskets will be in the mix, and the market offers an opportunity to find a gift just in time for Mother’s Day. Club members will be circulating through the crowd, offering tips and advice, and everyone is welcome.
Garden clubs and plant markets may be a dynamic duo when it comes to fundraising. Print shops can provide everything from marketing services to cloth shopping Totes printed with a group’s Logo Design to sell as fundraising items.
The 86th annual Plant Sale will be popping up this spring at the Maplewood Community Pool. It is scheduled for May 11, 12, and 13, and everyone is encouraged to stop by and support the Club.
