For many people, pizza and great times go hand in hand, and this will be the theme of a special event taking over Downtown Westfield this summer.
One of New Jersey’s largest non-corporate runs is making plans to hit the pavement this summer, and the whole community is invited to be a part of the fun. Usually drawing a crowd of spectators that numbers in the thousands, hundreds of runners are expected to be taking on the challenge.
Pizza, music and prizes will be the order of the day. It will be a USATF certified race, and there will be plenty of water stops on the route. The runners will encounter both flat and rolling streets with lots to look at along the way.
Those who register for this activity can stop by starting at 5:00 pm to pick up their tag and tech t-shirt, which will sport an eye-catching graphic design. After they have completed their run, the participants will be invited to stay for a while at the pizza party and awards presentation, and the whole event has been made possible thanks to support from a variety of corporate and other sponsors in the local community.
The 19th annual Downtown Westfield 5K Run and Pizza Extravaganza will be taking over the community’s downtown on July 20, beginning at 7:00 pm. Anyone who is interested is welcome to participate as a runner, spectator, or sponsor.
