Clark area event teaches about trees

Trees add a touch of beauty to the world, and Reeves Reed Arboretum will be sharing its secrets during a mix of classroom instruction and a walking workshop next month.

The Clark area venue will be giving the inside scoop on trees, beginning with the basics. The plans for the day include a visit to a forest, and light refreshments will be provided to the attendees.

Learners in the activity will find out about the physiology of trees and also how to identify them at various points during the year. Everyone will find out how to tell the age of a tree, and the anatomy of leaves will be included. The ways these plants communicate is on the agenda, as is a discussion of the various products that depend on them.

The function will be held rain or shine, and sunscreen and bug repellent are recommended. The registration fee for the afternoon starts at $25 for members and $35 for non-members.

Many people appreciate the chance to learn about the world around them. Stationery printers can prepare handouts that include full-color illustrations for an educational activity.

This easy introduction to the wonder of trees and the role they play will be on offer on Thursday, June 12. It will begin at 1:00 pm and continue on until 2:30 pm.
