Summer celebration returns to Stratham

The 2025 Stratham 4-H Summerfest will spotlight youth leadership and agricultural education at Stratham Hill Park.

The event will offer a full day of animal exhibitions, skill-based displays, and interactive competitions open to the community.

New Hampshire 4-H members will present livestock, including cattle, sheep, rabbits, goats, and working steers, alongside companion animals like dogs. Participants will demonstrate care, training, and showmanship while engaging with attendees to raise awareness about agricultural responsibility.

In addition to livestock, indoor exhibitions will feature projects from Rockingham and Strafford County youth. The displays will cover a range of disciplines, including GPS navigation, baking, textiles, environmental stewardship, and wind energy. Select contests, such as the King Arthur Youth Baking Competition and the Potted Flower Arrangement Competition, will add a creative edge to the festival's program.

Friday night will be reserved for members only, with a potluck dinner, animal drop-off, and forestry contest. Saturday will begin with early animal drop-off and mandatory exhibitor meetings, followed by continuous animal and building exhibits throughout the day. The festival will conclude with a softball game honoring first responders and an awards ceremony.

When attempting to get the word out for educational events such as this one, hosts may use flyer printing as a means of advertising.

The event takes place on Friday, July 18 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Saturday, July 19 from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm at Stratham Hill Park Fairgrounds, 270 Portsmouth Avenue, Stratham. Admission is free and open to all.
