Stratham tour combines tastings and awareness

AARP New Hampshire is partnering with Miles of Maple to host a community event focused on two entirely different but equally “sticky” matters – maple production and consumer protection education.

Taking place next month, the program will offer guided tours of a working sugarhouse along with information designed to help residents recognize and prevent fraud.

Participants will observe how sap is collected and processed into syrup, with staff explaining each stage of production from tree tapping to bottling. Samples will be provided during the visit, allowing attendees to taste freshly prepared syrup while learning about seasonal harvesting in New Hampshire.

In addition to the agricultural component, representatives from AARP New Hampshire will share guidance on avoiding common financial scams. Informational materials and staff-led discussions will address tactics used by fraudsters and outline practical steps individuals can take to safeguard personal information. Organizers say the goal is to connect a traditional spring activity with timely consumer awareness resources.

There is no ticket fee for admission, but participants must reserve a spot through the official event registration page. The program is designed for adults, families, and community members interested in both local food traditions and financial safety. Brochure printing is often employed to provide attendees with information at events such as this one.

The maple tasting and educational tour will take place on Wednesday, March 25 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Miles of Maple, 9 Winnicutt Rd, Stratham, New Hampshire.
