The 27th annual Great Bay 5K will take place in Stratham this October.
This long-standing event marks the final race in the Seacoast Road Race Series and benefits the Great Bay Stewards, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the Great Bay estuary through education, research, and outreach.
Participants can choose between two race formats: the traditional Great Bay 5K and the extended Great Bay 55K Challenge. The 5K will follow a scenic, largely downhill course along the bay. For those seeking a flexible option, the 55K Challenge allows runners to finish the complete distance virtually at any pace between October 1 and 25.
Wheelchair athletes are encouraged to participate with a race that begins at 8:45 am, 15 minutes before the main 5K starts. Motorized chairs are not permitted.
All attendees will receive a race shirt and a bib with detachable coupons redeemable for free beer or cider at select local venues. Participants must sign up by October 1 to guarantee a race shirt. Late registrants will only get a shirt while supplies last.
For organizers creating 5K runs like this one, flyer printing can be helpful in providing attendees with ticket costs.
The Great Bay 5K takes place Saturday, October 25, at 9:00 am in 270 Portsmouth Avenue, Stratham. Registration fees are $38.96 for the in-person 5K and $33.63 for the virtual 55K Challenge.
