The New Hampshire SPCA is inviting dog owners to participate in a beginner-friendly agility course from February to March.
This five-session class will focus on introducing dogs to agility obstructions using sound reinforcement techniques.
Participants will learn how to guide their pets through tunnels, over ramps, across hurdles, and around weaving poles, building confidence and teamwork along the way. Led by experienced instructor Liz S., the program aims to foster a fun, engaging environment while teaching foundational skills for agility training. The course emphasizes enjoyment for both dog and owner, making it an excellent option for those looking to deepen their connection with their pet.
To ensure a safe and productive experience, attendees are asked to bring specific equipment. Required items include a flat harness or collar with a six-foot leash—choke, electronic collars or probs, and retractable leashes are not permitted. High-value treats, a treat pouch for convenience, water, and suitable footwear, such as boots or sneakers are also recommended.
The class is limited to six students to allow for personalized instruction and support. Dogs must be at least six months old to participate. Whether individuals are new to agility or looking for a fun way to keep their pets active, this program offers a welcoming introduction to the sport.
