A Stratham area workshop will walk attendees through the steps to follow to prepare a Polish savoury treat.
Pierogis, which are dough-wrapped potato dumplings, are a popular traditional Polish holiday food, and the Polish Cooking for the Holidays class will explore these and other fare often served at this time of the year in Eastern Europe.
Each person who takes a seat for the session will gain hands-on experience in pierogi preparation. Michael Provost will facilitate the class, and the proceeds will benefit the Stone School Museum.
The students will discover how they can easily craft their own pierogis, as well as how different fillings can be used. At the end, each participant will walk away with two dozen of the treats, and they will also have a set of other recipes they can try as well. The learners are asked to bring a cutting board as well as a rolling pin and apron, and only 20 spots are available.
Hosted at Newmarket Community Church Kitchen, a flyer printing company will be able to offer inexpensive ways or marketing a function like this to the local community.
This chance to add some traditional Polish cuisine to the upcoming holidays will be on offer on Saturday, November 14. The venue is located at 137 Main Street in Newmarket.
