Frog walk brings Kernersville residents closer to nature

A walk in nature is being planned in Kernersville for this spring, allowing participants to view local wildlife in a new light.

The Frog Walk adult segment will offer parties in Kernersville a chance to learn more about nature in the North Carolina wetlands. The walk, which will take place at Ivey Redmon Park, will help adults learn more about the frogs and toads native to the region.

The walk will be led by Wendi Hartup and Henry Fensler. Hartup is the Kernersville Stormwater Manager, while Fensler is the founder of the NC Sierra Club Foothills Group. The walk will start with a short presentation about the different species participants may see and hear during the excursion. Brochure printing offers an affordable way to share additional information with guests who participate in such learning excursions.

Attendees will also learn how to identify different frogs and toads, and the role they play in their natural habitats. The conditions are expected to be muddy, and attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The group will meet by the soccer field near the dragonfly sign in Ivey Redmon Park. The walk will embark at 7:00 PM on Saturday, March 21. Interested parties can register online.
