Scottish new year tradition welcomes guests to Huntersville

A Scottish cultural celebration and tradition is on the horizon in Huntersville, allowing visitors and residents to connect more with their ancestors.

Huntersville residents and visitors looking for a unique way to welcome the new year to town are in luck, as the First Footin’ at Rural Hill has been arranged. Visitors will have an opportunity to learn about and celebrate the Scottish holiday of Hogmanay, a New Year’s tradition with centuries of history.

The celebration is designed to help participants say goodbye to the previous year and create space to welcome 2025 into their lives with family and friends. Attendees can learn more about the tradition with a self-guided walk around Rural Hill. Brochure printing is an effective way to share more information with guests about the tradition and its Scottish roots while promoting sponsors and local businesses.

Guests will enjoy stories about Rural Hill that date back to the 18th Century. The festive celebration will also have food and beverages to ensure each guest is well catered for. The event will be held outdoors, so interested parties should dress for the weather.

The Hogmanay celebration will be held at Rural Hill on Wednesday, January 1, from 10:00 AM to noon. Attendance is free, but interested parties are required to register online, and donations are appreciated.
