A park in the local area is bringing a special event to the community in mid-December.
WinterFest is a celebration meant to represent the start of the season. The event is family friendly and includes games, vendors, Santa Claus, bounce houses, and park attractions like a course for mini golf, a carousel, and a train.
The event is organized through the parks and recreation department for the city of High Point. Tickets per carousel or train ride are $2, with rounds of mini golf being $3 each. A wristband is also available for $5 that gives wearers unlimited usage of rides and activities. They can be purchased online from the parks and recreation website, or at the event, or can alternatively be earned at no cost by bringing five cans of food as a donation.
The venue is the High Point City Lake Park, which is located in the nearby town of Jefferson. The park was originally opened in 1933. With amenities like an aquatic center, an event and meeting center, and a marina, there are plenty of experiences for visitors to enjoy. Flyer printing is a popular promotion technique for events put together by city officials and festival organizers.
The event will take place on Saturday, December 14, with a timeframe of 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
