High Point party to combine fantasy and culture

An event is kicking off the month of March in High Point, as participants will get to join some characters from popular stories as they celebrate a holiday that goes back centuries.

Mardi Gras is traceable as far back in history as medieval Europe. In the United States, the city with the biggest ties to the event is New Orleans. However, the US celebrations originally started in the area of Mobile, a city in Alabama.

The Bayou Bash Mardi Gras Kids Ball is organized by Reserving Royalty Events. The host is “Princess Tiana” and her best friend “Queen Charlotte.”

Attendees will get to learn how to become a Krewe member, which entails taking part in the parade in the Second Line, make some Mardi Gras themed crafts, play games like bead tossing, get their faces painted, and indulge in cake and other desserts.

Tickets are $40 per child. Two adults are granted free entry for each child’s ticket. Purchases are available through the Reserving Royalty website.

When promoting activities led by small businesses, flyer printing services are often requested, and Print shops are happy to supply these.

The party will be held at The Fairytale Palace in High Point. It will run between the hours of 4:30pm and 6:00pm. The day of the event is March 2.
