The Festival of Lights is returning to Greensboro on the last day of this month. It has been taking place annually for 25 years and is presented by Downtown in December.
Various events will be taking place throughout downtown. The main event of the evening will be lighting the Community Tree in Center City Park beginning at approximately 7:00 pm.
Other activities taking place will include a community carol sing, strolling carolers, and several acoustic street performers. There will be a few warming stations on the street, as well as a photo booth big enough for holiday group photographs. Treats and hot chocolate will also be available at various places. In addition, for those people who have holiday gifts to buy, downtown stores will be open later than usual.
Another important event will be the arrival of Santa Claus who will be at Hamburger Square. In addition to visiting Santa, guests will be able to roast marshmallows.
This event will help start off the holiday season, and organizers may invest in flyer printing services to help spread the word in Greensboro.
The Festival of Lights will be held at various places in downtown Greensboro on November 30 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Admission is free of charge. For the most up-to-date information, visit the official festival website.
