Greensboro kids to gain introduction to gardening

Gardening is a hobby that can be enjoyed throughout a person’s life, and for four days this summer, Greensboro pre-schoolers will be getting their hands dirty.

Greensboro Day School has arranged a series of five morning workshops that will introduce toddlers to some of the basics of horticulture. While it will be all about having fun, it will also give the kids a chance to learn and develop an appreciation of plants and the role they play in the world, with the idea being that they are learning without realising it.

The group will gain experience in planting seeds and making compost, and there will be other activities as well. They may even be able to meet some garden helpers such as worms and other beneficial creatures. Educator Carly Lucas, who has an extensive background in working with preschool-aged kids, will guide the sessions, along with Courtney Sowers.

Stationery printers that have a graphic design team can be called upon to prepare special certificates to give to each child at the end of an event like this, and they will be able to proudly display them in their room or other location.

The Let it Grow for Tots workshop series will be getting down and dirty from July 12 to July 16. The location for the fun can be found at 5401 Lawndale Drive.
