Festival showcases local performers and artists

The Arts Revolution is returning to Greensboro for a second year, presented by the UNCG North Carolina Entrepreneurship Center.

The event is a two-part experience; the first half of the day will be filled with workshops for artists, and the second will be a free public festival.

The Artrepreneur Workshops will feature six hours of topics of interest to those who want to transform their skills into a business. There will be breakout sessions on topics such as marketing, copyright protection, and how to write or find grants. Some of the participation speakers will be Ja’net Adams, Bill Johnson, and Erika Rauer. The fee for the workshops is $100 and lunch is included.

The Arts Revolution Artapalooza will take place later in the day. There will be plenty of interactive art activities, ice sculptures, demonstrations, and performances of music and dance. Some of those slated to perform are musician Sharita Benson, the Royal Expressions Contemporary Ballet, and the band Love and Valor. Vendors will also be on hand.

The workshops will be a good opportunity for Greensboro graphic design professionals and others in the arts.

The Arts Revolution will be held at Revolution Mill on April 1. The workshops will be held from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and the festival will take place from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Visit the website to learn more.
