The 6th annual Running of The Balls is taking place next month in Greensboro. It is a fundraiser for the Second Harvest Food Bank.
The 5K run/walk travels through the Sunset Hills neighborhood. Most of the homeowners in the area decorate their trees with Christmas balls that light up the night. This popular annual event regularly attracts 3,500 participants and usually sells out.
Fees for the run are different for Sunset Hills’ residents and others. For non-residents, the cost is $40 for adults and $30 for children between K and Grade 12, while for residents it costs $20 for adults, $15 for children, and $30 for guests.
After the run there will be entertainment provided on seven music stages, carol singing by the campfire, and free hot chocolate and cookies.
Sponsorships are available for $300 and include four spots in the run. This event raised over $50,000 last year for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Since the race was founded the organization has provided 2,000,000 million meals in Northwest North Carolina.
The bibs and participation packages handed out for runs like this are often provided by Greensboro Print shops.
The Running of the Balls will be held in the Sunset Hills area of Greensboro on December 15, beginning at 6:00 PM. To learn more about the race, contact Running with Horses Events at 336-510-9390.Get a Free Quote for Print
