Fayetteville garden schedules event for families

A Fayetteville venue that makes STEM learning fun has an event in the works that will offer kids an opportunity to learn more about the moon.

Parents looking for an activity for their youngsters to enjoy on their own may find Cape Fear Botanical Garden’s “Moon Walk” a good fit. Kids from the ages of 8 to 12 can be dropped off and for the three-hour duration of the event.

The facilitators for the session will talk about different aspects of the moon, including its phases, craters, and also its dark side. There will be hands-on learning, and an after-dark exploration of the garden will be included in the agenda. The activity will wrap up with a time around a campfire and some s’mores.

The event is part of the venue’s Kids Night Out series, which is held once each month. Events where young people will participate may require custom prepared documents such as waivers, letterheads, and registration forms. Stationery printers can customize all of these to order, and will be able to accommodate most budgets.

Cape Fear Botanical Garden is set to spark an interest in astronomy with its Moon Walk evening on Friday, November 7. It will begin at 6:00 pm, and the participation fee is $35 per child, with a discount available for members of the garden.
