Fayetteville function to offer Santa a helping hand

An opportunity for the public to put smiles on the faces of area military families has been scheduled for Fayetteville. Volunteers are being sought for this activity, and all help will be welcome.

The participants in the activity will be offering Santa a hand by assisting with the preparation and distribution of presents to children in local military families. Spouses of troops and other members of the armed forces who are on active duty will also receive a gift to thank them for being the “strength behind the combats”.

Once they arrive at Manna Church to help with the project, the volunteers will aid with setting up for the party during which the gifts will be presented. They will also be on hand to greet the guests, and once the event is over, they will also help with the tear down.

The planners explained that while all support will be appreciated, the helpers may be asked to lift items that weigh up to 30lb. They went on to say that they may be able to offer accommodations so that everyone who wants to get involved can do so. Holiday Cards can be prepared by a company that crafts Letterheads for this sort of function, and these can be enclosed with each of the gifts.

This opportunity for the community to show its support to all military families has been scheduled for December 13. The project volunteers are asked to be on site by 9:30 am.
