Coke to move workers back to central Atlanta

The Coca Cola Co. has made plans to transfer 500 employees from suburbia to the core of Atlanta.

The latest move is a continuation of a policy that has seen a campus modernization in the area of North Avenue. The concentration of the activities of Coke could have an influence on real estate values in the downtown of Atlanta and this may feed through to influence demand for work from printing companies in Fayetteville.

Coke has made an official statement saying:

“As announced in 2013 we are undertaking a multi-year effort to consolidate more of our people downtown to increase the efficiency of our real estate footprint. More than 2,000 workers have already relocated to our downtown locations.”

The earlier moves had meant that the suburban locations that were still rented by Coke were not being used as efficiently as they might, so the corporation reasoned that a move from 2500 Windy Ridge made sense. This suburban 16-story office block is situated within Cobb County at Wildwood Office Park.

Griffin Capital Corp. is the owner of 2500 Windy Ridge. This organization, located in Los Angeles, can now search for a large tenant to replace Coke. As the local economy has picked up in recent times, there is a chance that a firm will be looking out for headquarters, and it has been announced by officials that Coke is assisting in the task of looking for a replacement tenant.
