Missoula welcomes conference for music teachers
The Montana State Music Teachers Association (MSMTA) will organize a state conference at the University of Montana in Missoula.
The 2024 MSMTA State Conference is an event where music instructors can connect with their peers, attend informative presentations, and browse vendors from the music industry. The presentations for this year’s convention include The Art of the Phrase, Northwest Region Happenings, and Arranging, Coaching, and Performing Piano Ensemble Music. There will also be a recital, raffle, and multiple masterclasses held during the conference. An awards banquet will take place on the first night of the event.
The featured presenter for the state conference is Dr. Peter Mack, the president of the MSMTA. He is a choral scholar from Trinity College Dublin who also attended the University of Washington. Mack has also taught masterclasses at the Music Teachers National Association’s convention and the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy. The adjudicator for the event is Dr. Colleen Hunter, a piano teacher at Gonzaga University who plays with the Panhandle Symphony Orchestra.
The MSMTA’s event will be held from Thursday, October 31st to Saturday, November 2nd. Members of the MSMTA can pay $150 to register for the conference, and non-members can purchase tickets for $185. Companies that want to exhibit at the convention may pay $75 for a booth space. Businesses that attend similar state conferences may use promotional products to connect with event-goers.
