A mid-March event is giving Missoula residents a chance to celebrate a popular holiday while staying active.
Run for the Luck of It! is an event from Run Wild Missoula. The St. Patrick’s Day themed activity includes races at three different distances. The longest is a seven mile race. Then there is a five kilometer event, and finally a 400 meter race for kids.
The longer races are also open to children and teens as well. Registration is available for all three races on RunSignUp. Children have free entry. People between the ages of thirteen and twenty have a $20 fee for both the 5k and seven mile race. The adult prices at the time of writing are $43 for the 5k and $48 for the seven mile event. These will increase after March 3rd.
The venue will be the Missoula County Fairgrounds. For those able to drink, beverages will be provided by Big Sky Brewing. Irish food such as bangers & mash will also be available for racers to enjoy at the end of their run or walk. A specially made stein glass, printed with the event’s Logo Design, will be available as a promotional product for participants. A Celtic Dragon Pipe Band will be playing by the finish line to help encourage racers through that final push. The event will run between the hours of 8:45am and 1:00pm. The scheduled date is March 14th.
