The Missoula Conservation District will hold an event in January that will teach people about multiple agricultural topics.
The Western Montana Grazing and Agriculture Conference is an experience where attendees can hear from expert speakers and partake in informative sessions. The topics discussed at this year’s agricultural convention will include soil fertility, rotational grazing, and pest management techniques. There will also be panels on beef marketing and agritourism. The event will take place at the GW Marks Exploration Center. Guests can enjoy food from local sources at the conference.
The keynote speaker for the convention is Glenn Elzinga, the CEO and co-founder of the Alderspring Ranch. Elzinga will give a presentation on regenerative grazing and ranching. He has been featured as a special guest on podcasts and at other agricultural events. Elzinga’s organic cattle ranch has 46,000 rangeland acres and 1,650 deeded acres. He is part of the Real Organic Project, an organization that was formed in 2018 to help connect farmers who care about organic farming.
The conference will be on Thursday, January 30th and Friday, January 31st. Those interested in attending the Missoula Conservation District’s event can pay $75 per person. General admission for the convention will include two days of lunches and access to the presentations.
