Missoula to host annual science fair

The UM Adams Center in Missoula will be holding the 68th Montana Science Fair in April.

The Montana Science Fair is an event that challenges middle and high schoolers to complete a science fair project for a chance to win prizes. The rewards for placing high in the event include cash prizes and trophies. Up to four talented students will receive an invitation to the International Science & Engineering Fair in Dallas, Texas. The original Montana Science Fair was held in 1955, and more than 20,000 have participated in the event since its debut.

People can assist during the fair by becoming judges or volunteers. The event organizers are looking for approximately 300 judges to evaluate the projects and conduct interviews with the students. Those who become volunteers at the science fair can help distribute ribbons to winners, give out T-Shirts, and provide directions to guests at the venue’s entrance. The volunteers can also check in the judges and review the projects to make sure they are safe.

The science fair will be held on Monday, April 3, and the awards ceremony for the event will be on Tuesday, April 4 at the UM Dennison Theater. Students who wish to register for the fair must pay $25. Organizations that hold school-related functions such as this may use poster printing to promote their educational events to locals.
