Missoula running organization to hold Thanksgiving race

Run Wild Missoula will be organizing a race at the University of Montana in November to benefit a local cause.

The Turkey Day 8K and 3K Family Fun Run encourages folks to get active before heading home to their Thanksgiving feasts. The activity will take participants along the Milwaukee Trails and the riverfront. A few sections of the course will be held on the streets in Missoula. The event is open to walkers and strollers, and only ADA Service Animals will be allowed to join during the 8K and 3K. A portion of the money from the race will benefit the Missoula Food Bank.

Run Wild Missoula is an organization that promotes running and walking activities for those of all ages and abilities. The group has over 1,600 members and hosts several events each year, including the Skeleton Skedaddle & Pumpkin Plod and Mount Jumbo Elk Ramble. People can join the organization to receive discounts for the group’s programs. Individual memberships cost $27 per year, and family memberships will cost $37 each year.

The 8K race will be held on November 25 and will begin at 9:30 am. The cost to take part in the timed race is $20 per participant, though the fee will increase to $25 after Thursday, October 28. The registration cost will include a custom winter hat. The 3K will start at 9:35 am. People who make community races like this may use banner printing to promote them outdoors.
