Missoula race to advocate for clean air

Missoula will be organizing an endurance event in February to benefit the Climate Smart Missoula organization.

Running Up for Air is part of the Up For Air Series, which is a collection of events aiming to help organizations working on air quality solutions. The challenge in Missoula will be held on Mt. Sentinel. Those participating in the event can choose how long their running session will last. An aid station will be available for runners at the top of the mountain trail. All entrants must stay on the path at all times and are required to wear traction devices.

Climate Smart Missoula is a local non-profit group with the goal of reducing the city's carbon footprint. The organization also educates people on staying healthy and the dangers of wildfire smoke. The group organizes events like its annual Year-End Celebration and Missoula's Climate and Clean Energy Expo. The organization's program director also hosts a podcast called Clear the Air. People in non-profits like this can generate more community awareness for their cause by using banner printing.

The challenge will be held on Saturday, February 12 from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. The price to participate ranges from $60 to $100. Those who wish to help with the race may volunteer at the aid station or hand out packets to runners on the day before the event.
