Those interested in learning about the local environment can attend a workshop in June offered by the Montana Natural History Center.
The Summer 2022 June Master Naturalist Class is a multi-day lesson where people can learn how to identify local plants and creatures. The three main subjects covered in the course include birds, insects, and plants like flowers and shrubs. The majority of the class will occur outdoors, though there will also be lectures and labs held at the history center. Students will also learn about topics like local geology, fire ecology, and mammals.
The Montana Natural History Center was originally founded by a group of educators in 1991. The organization provides educational programs to children and adults, like summer camps, school visits, and museum tours. The center has several exhibits for guests to explore that showcase Montana’s flora, fauna, and ecology. Museums similar to this may use Print shops to create Flyers for advertising their upcoming educational events to consumers.
The Summer 2022 June Master Naturalist Class will take place from Monday, June 6 to Friday, June 10. The course is held from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and will be primarily taught by Christine Morris. Members of the history center can pay $420 to join the class, while non-members must pay $450. Locations visited during the experience include Lolo Pass and the National Bison Range.
