Missoula herb school to hold immersion program

The Green Path Herb School in Missoula will be organizing an intensive week-long program in July.

Herbal Immersion 2022 is a course that teaches students about the herbs found in the ecosystems throughout Northwestern Montana. During the immersive program, participants will learn how to ethically harvest medicinal herbs and make medicine while in the field. The instructors will also take participants on herb walks to learn about the plants and meet them in their natural environment. The course will spend a day in the school’s herb gardens to teach students how to grow, harvest, and dry different herbs.

The instructors for the program are Elaine Sheff and John Goicovich. Sheff is the co-director of the Green Path Herb School, a clinical herbalist, and a member of the American Herbalist Guild. Goicovich is the school’s other co-director and a graduate of the Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies. He also co-founded a retail and manufacturing herb company called Meadowsweet Herbs. The herb school was founded in 2013 and offers courses such as the Herbalist Certificate Program.

The herb class will be held from Monday, July 11 to Friday, July 15 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The cost to attend the intensive program is $495 per student. Educational facilities that offer experiences like this may use brochure printing to inform potential students about their available courses.
