Run Wild Missoula will be organizing a race in November to raise funds for the Five Valleys Land Trust.
The Mount Jumbo Elk Ramble 15K is a competitive athletic experience where people can help an environmental organization protect local mountains and water sources. The race will start and finish at Hellgate Soccer Fields, and the course will primarily take place in the North Zone of Mount Jumbo. Three aid stations are available for participants that offer water, sports drinks, and toilets. The event is cup free, so runners must bring their own bottles or use a Hydrapak Speedcup.
The Five Valleys Land Trust is a group founded in 1972 to protect Montana’s lands from being destroyed by residential and commercial development. The organization has several projects, including public lands like the Lincoln Community River Park, Mount Dean Stone, and Alberton Gorge. People can assist the non-profit’s mission by volunteering to help with trail building, pulling noxious weeds, and restoration projects.
The 15K will take place on November 5 and will begin at 10:00 am. The cost to attend Run Wild Missoula’s race is $42 per person. Commemorative shirts will cost extra. Only 300 people will be allowed to take part in the race. Organizations that hold benefit races like this may include their Logo Design on any event-related Apparel to promote their brand to attendees.
